Mindestens einmal im Jahr gibt es hier einen Anlass um sich beim flechten richtig auszutoben. Ok, wer den Blog schon länger verfolgt weiß, dass ich den nicht brauche und auch so gerne mal kreativ werde, aber hier gebe ich mir meist besondere Mühe und trage das ganze anschließend auch. Es ist eine Art mittelalterliches Fest, bei dem sich die Stadt und alle Besucher verkleiden. So auch ich dieses Jahr zum ersten Mal mit Kleid. Kurzer Hinweis, falls euch das Kleid gefällt – ich habe es an zwei Stellen verändert. Und zwar habe ich hinten zwei Abnäher gesetzt, da es mir in Größe S ein gutes Stück zu weit war und vorne am Ausschnitt das ganze meiner Figur angepasst. Ach ja und eine andere Schnur eingesetzt.

Zurück zu den Haaren. Es sind für gewöhnlich ausgefallene Zöpfe oder Half-Ups die ich flechte. Da es aktuell sehr warm ist sollte es ein Zopf werden. Genauer gesagt sind es Fünfer Classics die ich dann ab dem Nacken zusammen gekordelt habe. Kleiner Hinweis vom Profi: auch ich kann nicht alles perfekt. Der erste Gedanke war, die Zöpfe im Nacken zu einem zusammen zu fügen. Aber ich hatte das Gefühl, dass ich das nicht schön hinbekomme. Also macht man aus der Not eine Tugend – das Kordeln war die leichtere Alternative und im Endeffekt auch viel schöner!

Once a year there is this special occasion where I can get really wild with braiding my hair. Ok, if you are following my blog you know I don’t really need an occasion for that, but for this I’m really wearing this crazy braids. It’s kind of a medieval festival and the town and all it’s visitors get dressed up. For me it was the first time with a beautiful dress. Note if you are interested in the dress: I made two slight changes. It was too wide in the smallest size so I made it smaller and I changed the neckline to suit my body. And I changed the ribbon.

Back to the hair. Usually I do extraordinary braids or half ups. As it is really hot at the moment I decided to go for a braid. In detail: Five Strand Classics which I combined to a kind of rope braid in the neck. Please note: my first plan was to combine the braids to one, but I was afraid I could not do this . So I came up with this and it even turned out better!

Als Akzent oben drauf gab es sowas wie Luftmaschen. Eigentlich genauso gemacht wie beim Häkeln. Aber Achtung, das verkürzt immens. Eine Strähne meiner ganzen Länge als solcher Akzent reicht gerade mal von den Schläfen bis zur Mitte des Hinterkopfes. Demnach habe ich jeweils eine Strähne links und eine rechts genommen und sie in der Mitte zusammen gefügt. Die Nahtstelle dann mit einem Blümchen kaschieren. Ich muss sagen diese Technik hat mich spontan begeistert, denn die so gemachten Maschen halten viel besser als zunächst gedacht und machen wirklich einen Hingucker. Einer der ersten Kommentare war wo denn da das Ende ist. Kurz danach kam dann „Kann man sowas an sich selbst flechten?“.

As an accent on top I did something like a chain stitch. Just like you would do when crocheting. But be aware this takes a lot of lenght. One strand of my lenght braided with this technique only reached form my forhead to the middle of the back of my head. So I took one strand from the left and one from the right and joined them in the middle. Then I covered this spot with a flower. I must admit this technique really amazed me because those stiches were holding really well and are a beautiful eye catcher. One of the first comments was „where is this ending?“. Shortly afterwards it was „Can you braid this on your own head?“
